HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (Includes CPR)
Course Overview
This is the essential first aid course for anyone working in childcare, education, and care settings in Australia. HLTAID012 covers everything in HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid) plus additional content specific to managing emergencies involving infants and children. It includes CPR, asthma management, and anaphylaxis response - all commonly required for educators under the National Quality Framework.

Assessment

Prerequisites
- No prior qualifications required
- Must be physically able to perform CPR on the floor for at least 2 minutes
- Access to a device with internet for pre-course online component

Certificate
Your nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID012, HLTAID011, and HLTAID009 is issued upon successful completion.
Renewal
First aid certification is recommended for renewal every 3 years. CPR (HLTAID009) must be renewed annually. Asthma and anaphylaxis training should also be renewed according to your service's policies.
