This is the essential first aid course for anyone working in childcare, education, and care settings in Australia. HLTAID012 covers everything in HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid) plus additional content specific to managing emergencies involving infants and children. It includes CPR, asthma management, and anaphylaxis response - all commonly required for educators under the National Quality Framework.

Your nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID012, HLTAID011, and HLTAID009 is issued upon successful completion.

Renewal

First aid certification is recommended for renewal every 3 years. CPR (HLTAID009) must be renewed annually. Asthma and anaphylaxis training should also be renewed according to your service's policies.

Is HLTAID012 mandatory for childcare workers?

Yes. Under the Education and Care Services National Regulations, approved services must ensure that a sufficient number of educators hold an approved first aid qualification (HLTAID012), current CPR (renewed annually), and current asthma and anaphylaxis management training.

What's the difference between HLTAID011 and HLTAID012?

HLTAID012 includes everything in HLTAID011 plus additional content focused on emergencies involving infants and children in education and care settings. If you work in childcare, you need HLTAID012.

Does HLTAID012 include CPR?

Yes. HLTAID012 includes both HLTAID011 (First Aid) and HLTAID009 (CPR). You receive all three qualifications upon successful completion.

Can you train our whole childcare centre onsite?

Yes. We deliver onsite training for childcare centres, kindergartens, and OSHC services across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Groups of 5 or more. We work around your roster to minimise disruption to ratios.

How often do childcare workers need to renew?

CPR must be renewed annually. The full HLTAID012 first aid certificate should be renewed every 3 years. Check with your centre director for specific renewal policies.
